Annandale is a large town in Fairfax County located off of Intersate 495 in Northern Virginia close to Vienna and Tysons Corner and about 25 minutes to Washington DC. Its history goes back to 1685 when it was first purchased by an Englishman who then converted the land into a tobacco farm. There are many parks and trails in Annandale including the Annandale Community Park, a 52 acre park full of outdoor activities for residents. It is also home to the Hidden Oaks Nature Center.
Annandale is part of the Fairfax County school system for elementary through high school. There are great private shcools also and George Mason University is not far away in Fairfax, VA. A NVCC (Northern VA Community College) campus is also located in Annandale.
