Heritage Farms is the legal name of the community located off of Catharpin road in Gainesville, Virginia. It is also known as Oak Valley. Many of the 267 homes in the community sit on large plots ranging from half acres to over one acre. This can be hard to find in many Northern Virginia neighborhoods.
During the building of Heritage Farms there were 4 builders involved which allowed for a variety of models and styles with the majority of houses being brick.
Heritage Farms lies within the Prince William County Rural Crescent plan which was created to save more open space in Western PWC, it mandated that all future homes be constructed on a minimum of 10 acres. The Heritage Farms subdivision plans were already submitted before the establishment of the rules and therfore the builders were able to continue with the construction in 2002 through 2003.
